Fresh CM had a surprise visitor in the form of Gordon Brown Prime Minister on Monday 8th February at the Newham Resource Centre

I would like to let you know that we had a surprise visitor in the form of Gordon Brown Prime Minister on Monday 8th February at the Newham Resource Centre where we have staff in the kitchen that cook for some 150 Day Centre service users on a daily basis.

"Richard Best , Service Manager for Fresh CM Newham, reported that the Prime Minister spoke to the Fresh Cm staff and personally thanked them for the work we are doing with the elderly at the centre and what excellent and good job we are doing and that he also appreciate this as the service users were very happy with there meals in particular the Christmas dinners we had served. "

Gordon Brown was at the Resource Centre promoting his Social Care Agenda and the Newham Resource Centre is in the flag ship borough of Newham.

FreshCM called to represent Community Meals Services on behalf of  HRH Duchess Of Cornwall.

HRH The Duchess of Cornwall has become an Honorary Member of the National Association of Care Catering (NACC), after becoming involved with the association last year during Community Meals Week.

In October 2008, Her Royal Highness played an instrumental role in raising awareness of the Community Meals Service by helping deliver a meal through Aberdeen Council to Mr Alexander (Sandy) Irvine, a resident of Ballater, Deesside.

The NACC was presented the Blue Ribband Award at the Cost Sector Catering Awards dinner in April 2009 on behalf of all the Meals Services members who are providers of a very important Community Meals on Wheels Service, in the absence of Duchess of Cornwall, Sheila Haslop Senior Service Manager, Fresh CM was invited to along with other providers of this service to receive on behalf of HRH and with the approval the Honorary Membership.
